Okay, here's what's happened the last couple of days. On Saturday, we got our translated documents from His Hands! Praise the Lord! So we went yesterday morning and got the adoption contracts notarized. That was a bit of a struggle. We went to our bank (they've notarized MANY previous adoption documents for us). But this one was in Chinese. That scared them a little, I guess. Anyway, we ended up going to a law office to get it done. THEY knew that the contents of the document and what language it's in doesn't matter. From there the kids and I went to the Secretary of State and dropped everything off. They said it would take 2-3 hours to authenticate all my documents. So the kids and I ate lunch and hung out at Borders. The SOS finally called and said everything was ready. But when I went to pick it up, a couple of things were wrong, so they had to fix it while I waited some more. :) From there we went to TECO. (Keep in mind that all of this was in downtown Kansas City and I had to really hunt for all of these places!) As soon as I walked into the TECO office, she asked me if I had made copies of everything for HER file! Of course, I had not. So we left to hunt down a Kinko's to make the copies. Finally, we returned to TECO and left our documents with them! (The kids were SO good while we were doing all of this!) She said they'll be done in 3 days. So as soon as I get them back, I'll send them to Taiwan! So Holly & Trena should get them at least by the first of next week. So I'm praying that they have time to file for my court date right away and that our court date is soon! But it's all in God's timing and I know that's best! :)
We got an update on Mia today! Yay! We are SO blessed to get so many pictures and updates! Mia weighs 8.4 pounds now! She's eating well, smiling more and loves to be cuddled! She's well loved and taken care of and for this we are SO thankful!
